SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Thursday February 25 2010
THE SPANISH Meteriological Office on Thursday warned of more storms in the Canaries this weekend.
by JAMES TWEEDIE
The authority predicted that a strong low pressure system approaching from Madeira - where freak storms killed more than thirty people last week - would bring winds of up to 120 kph (75mph) to the archipelago in the early hours of Saturday, with more bad weather set for Sunday.
The latest weather warning follows previous heavy storms and flooding on February 1, 17 and 18.
